About the Chef

Chef Michael Anthony is the Executive Chef and Partner of Gramercy Tavern, where he has led the kitchen since 2006 with a deeply seasonal approach to contemporary American cuisine rooted in relationships with local farms and purveyors. A James Beard Award–winning chef, Anthony is celebrated for blending refined technique with warm hospitality, helping establish Gramercy Tavern as one of New York’s most enduring and influential restaurants.

Chef Norihito Endo is one of Tokyo’s most sought-after sushi chefs, renowned for his meticulous Edomae technique and refined omakase experiences that balance tradition with modern precision. Trained under legendary sushi master Takashi Saito, Chef Endo has earned acclaim for creating deeply intimate dining experiences that showcase the highest level of Japanese craftsmanship and seasonality.

The Menu: A 20-course omakase experience showcasing both locally sourced ingredients and exceptional seafood imported from Japan. Additional details to be announced.

Walter Manzke is a celebrated Los Angeles chef known for blending refined French technique with California ingredients, shaped by his experience working with culinary icons like Ferran Adrià and Alain Ducasse before opening République with his wife and pastry chef Margarita Manzke in 2013. Widely regarded as one of LA’s most influential restaurateurs, Manzke has earned acclaim from the Michelin Guide, James Beard Foundation, and Los Angeles Times for helping redefine modern French dining in Southern California.

Andrew Turner, owner of Valley Wine Merchants here in Newberg, is also serving as sous chef for the evening.

Inspired by the great wine traditions of Burgundy, guests are invited to bring and pour special wines from their own cellars to enjoy alongside a thoughtfully crafted dinner, creating a one-of-a-kind celebration of generosity, French tradition, and community.
