Nicolas Jay and Slow Wine in Oregon

Nicolas Jay is one of 50 wineries to appear in the first even Slow Wine Guide for Oregon. Slow Food started in Italy in 1986 as a movement to promote local ingredients and preserve culinary tradition in the face of commercialization and mass production. Most recently Slow Food has ventured into the USA, and in 2010 began covering the wineries that emphasize "slow" production - small production, low-intervention, site-specific wines that highlight the craft of winemaking.
