Join us for an in-depth discussion on Pinot Noir with Hirsch Vineyards and Nicolas Jay Estate on April 11 at 12 pm PST.
On April 11, join Jasmine Hirsch of Hirsch Vineyards, Jean-Nicolas Méo of Domaine Méo-Camuzet and Nicolas Jay, and Jay Boberg of Nicolas Jay, for an in-depth conversation about Pinot Noir.
It's easy to wax poetic about the magic of Pinot Noir, but how do these Pinot Noir champions go about capturing that magic in a bottle?
This discussion is geared towards the most passionate of Pinot Noir fans with an in-depth conversation about clonal selection, climate, ripeness, and so much more. This panel will talk about the influence of fog and rain on the vineyards of the Sonoma Coast and the Willamette Valley, and how climate change is affecting our respective wine regions. In addition, they'll discuss what it's like to create Pinot Noir in a region with strict boundaries, like Burgundy, versus in Oregon and California, where choices abound. Please bring your questions to share during our live Q&A at the end of the session!
We'll hear from Jean-Nicolas Méo about how his experience as Winemaker and Owner of Domaine Méo-Camuzet in Burgundy influences his work in Oregon as Winemaker and Co-Founder of Nicolas Jay. Jasmine Hirsch will share her experiences as the second-generation Winemaker of Hirsch Vineyards and why she’s so passionate about biodynamic farming and crafting Pinot Noir in her family’s cool, fog-swept vineyards of the Sonoma Coast. Nicolas Jay Vintner and Co-Founder, Jay Boberg, will guide the discussion and explore how the concepts of terroir and typicity have become the benchmarks for crafting Pinot Noir — whether in Burgundy, Oregon or California.
